So I’ve now had a chance to play through and beat the campaigns of the two FPS titans of this year; Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. I’ve got to say, I was very impressed with both of these epic campaigns. I liked them, but each for different reasons. Here are my reasons.
…
This is…
Freddy Krueger!
REVIEW:
“The Nightmare” Freddy Krueger is here! Freddy’s Nightmare has been unleashed on the world today on both PS3 and Xbox 360 in Mortal Kombat. Since the announcement of Freddy at Comic-Con this year, I have been waiting for this day.
I got some time to try him out and so far I am really liking him. Very organic, not too stiff. He has quick moves which lead to faster/smoother combos so you should have no problem slicing your opponent up with Freddy’s claw(s), which leads me to my next point. For those of you that are long time Freddy Krueger movie fans and are sticklers, you might not like that Freddy in MK has TWO claws instead of one (as you can see in the picture above). But overall the producers at NetherRealm Studios kept Freddy as iconic as possible; all the way down to the classic torn up black and red striped sweater. Freddy Krueger was a brilliant addition to the Mortal Kombat series and hopefully we see more characters like this in the future. Why? Because there is nothing cooler than throwing the man that was BORN in the fires of hell (Scorpion) into a burning furnace headed straight to hell. Another addition I wouldn’t mind would be The Grim Reaper or Jason; just to add to the whole Freddy Krueger character.
Now that I’ve talked a bit about Freddy’s looks and movement, lets get into some specifics. Freddy Kreuger can be yours for $4.99 on the PSN and 400 MS Points on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. They also came out with “Mortal Kombat DLC Warrior Bundle” today that includes all four of the DLC characters (Scarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger) for $14.99. Now if you’ve been keeping up with the MK DLC, you would know that each character costs the same price as Freddy, $4.99. This is where the deal comes in. Your getting four characters for the price of three! Now this is a great buy for someone who has been wanting all of the characters but didn’t want to cough up $5 a pop. Now for me, this isn’t a great buy because I really only wanted Freddy, but for someone who is a long time MK fan, this is your deal right here. Make sure you definitely check out Freddy though. Very fun character to use.
FINISHING MOVES: (buttons depending on which console your on)
Fatality 1: “Tell ‘Em Freddy Sent Ya” - Back, Forward, Down, Down, Square/X
Fatality 2: “Welcome To My Nightmare” - Down, Up, Right, Left, Block
Babality: Back, Forward, Down, Square/X
RESULT: 10/10 - Freddy Krueger is a great buy and its something new that goes great with this franchise. Good job NetherRealm.

Now learning objective-c to more easily learn c++ and quicker to develop iPhone games since XCode uses objective-c language as an option.
Finally going back home after cmas break to go back onto my pc and continue learning c++. There’s only so much one can do on an iPhone with a simple compiler and code!
Minecraft just passed one million sales.
Exclamation mark.

One of my inspirations as a game developer is Markus Persson (Notch). He’s such an inspiring indie style developer that really has shown how simple games can become so addicting with no need to add any extra stuff that a lot of times ruins good games. He writes in java. I am currently learning c++. Two different worlds. The old games like donkey kong arcade, lode runner, Mario, metroid, and next-gen games that most everyone knows as well is what I aim to develop like but add something new to the table of gaming. I expect to be in the next year starting to develop actual games.
